Don't laugh... I'm cheap!

It's Mike again. Today I went to our local hardware store to look for a door for the laundry room (Yes, I'm still working on the upstairs project). The door I had been looking at for weeks now was, of course, sold and gone! I did find another great deal though. For some unknown reason, they have a little display set up in the "Bargain Basement" with Playtex bottles and liners, for really cheap I might add!! Since we're travelling, and sterilization could be an issue, I thought these seemed like a good deal, so I carried an armload home. We'll have to see what Brenda thinks, since she's out tonight and has not yet see them. She sometimes scoffs at my "bargains", but I think it was a great buy!

What a good man. I wish my husband would get involved in the buying of things we need!

You are brilliant! I found the 8 oz bottle and liners to be invaluable, and in fact, I am still using them now that we are home. You can rinse out the liners many times and re-use them over and over before they become a bit grotty. I also use the slow flow nipples- this gives you longer to snuggle and cuddle with baby as it takes them longer to feed.

I know some people premeasure formula into the liners and then tied off with a twist tie for the trip home. I just used a smallish tupperware type container and the scoop from a can of formula. There is a nifty plastic container that has seperate compartments for a serving of formula and then you just move the lid and spout to add premeasured formula to the bottle.

Great buy, Mike. I used them for my baby 30 years ago when I lived on a small island in the Bahamas and had to boil all my water before I could use it. Treasures indeed.
